For years Shadow Work have been captivating audiences with their cosmic soundscapes and immortal musicality. We are only 3 months into 2026 and dare I say Shadow Work is already contending for one of the top releases of the year with their new single, “Something’s Burning”. As a follow-up to their 2025 song “Kerosene” (which also plays with fire), Shadow Work manage to encapsulate their formidable musicianship and niche for songwriting with this new song. “Something’s Burning” is funky, groovy, and all of the other juicy adjectives you need to get out of your chair and onto the dance floor. Without a doubt, Shadow Work are probably some of the most talented musicians around on the scene right now, and that comes across in their playing. You need only listen to their pocket-driven drum chops, tasteful guitar licks, funky bass grooves, or passionate vocal runs to understand why. “Something’s Burning” keeps the energy flowing throughout the song with a brief intermission to bring things down a notch during the bridge. This all culminates in an explosive finale full of unbridled intensity and raw passion that can be heard in frontman Rafael Nava’s vocals.

Shadow Work hits the road for their “Something’s Burning” Tour starting on March 13th at Surfside 7 in Fort Collins. You can also catch them in Colorado Springs on March 14th at Lulu’s Downtown or in Denver at The Crypt on March 31st!
