Tricoma’s “RICTUS GRIN” Sounds As Terrifying As The Name Suggests

Tricoma

Denver has spawned some pretty notable metal acts over the years - bands such as Havok and Cephalic Carnage all have called Denver “home”, and it’s no wonder that this city has one of the best up and coming metal scenes in the country. Tricoma are no exception to this wave of heavy hitters coming out of Denver, alongside bands such as Angelic Desolation, Blood Incantation, and In The Company of Serpents, just to name a few. And now with their new single, “RICTUS GRIN” they have truly cemented themselves as being one of the best in their genre. As the name suggests, this song is terrifying from start to finish. As a follow up to their 2024 album Halls of Lament, “RICTUS GRIN” builds on Tricoma’s monstrous and menacing sound to give the listener a wild ride that gets the heart beating. From the chugging guitar riff intro followed by a fury of monstrous drums and diabolical vocals, you almost feel like you are being dragged into the depths of hell. The song continues to progress with some intricate guitar licks and a fiendish vocal performance before building to a sudden end - leaving the listener wallowing in what they just witnessed. Tricoma is a no frills band that keeps it heavy, authentic, and original in everything that they do, and “RICTUS GRIN” is living proof of just that.

However, this is only just the start for what’s next to come with Tricoma, as their third full length album “Wound” drops on October 17th!
