Denver’s hardcore scene has got to be one of the most underrated hardcore scenes in the country, and I’ll live and die by that statement. So when I heard this new Tunnel Jumper song I couldn’t believe these guys weren’t also on tour with the likes of Pain of Truth, Drain, or some other national heavy-hitters in the scene. Clocking in at 2:34, all of it heavy, “Snake Around A Scepter” is an anabolic experience front to back that leaves the listener’s adrenaline levels spiking and hearts racing. SAAS contains everything you could possibly want in a hardcore punk track: in-your-face vocals, crunchy and aggressive guitar riffs, a deep low-end that you feel in your core, and drums that will slap you right across the face. With an apocalyptic tempo change at around the minute mark listeners are continuously thrown for a loop and the perilous journey all leads to an explosive beatdown-esque ending to destroy what remaining reserves you might’ve had up to that point.
Do yourself a favor now and go listen to “Snakes Around A Scepter” yourself. Go catch them play it live as well, when they take on the Marquis Denver on September 26th with a multitude of other heavy hitters - tickets for which can be found HERE. Denver hardcore is alive and well folks and Tunnel Jumper is doing it proud right now!
